A lot of campaigns were launched to solve the improper waste disposal but nothing is said to be successful enough to eradicate this problem. It is now getting out of hand. Majority are now affected by the improper waste disposal including our health, economic development, and the environment itself.
Due to people’s undisciplined actions regarding the waste disposal, our health is now at risk. Those unattended garbage at home and in the streets attract flies, rats, mosquitoes and other insects resulting to spreading of infectious diseases in the community. Those solid wastes such as tin cans increase the risk of injury and infections. Garbage produces hazardous chemicals and exposure resulting to some health problems.

Economic development is also affected by this improper waste disposal. La Trinidad is a tourist attraction. More tourist means more income for our municipality but because of the garbage problem that we are currently facing, tourists are discouraged to visit our place that therefore results to poor economic development.

The most affected area of this problem is our environment. The land near the dump sites and the dump site as well are now contaminated because garbage produces chemical that can cause soil contamination and air pollution. Garbage that is not properly disposed produce emissions of several greenhouse gases, specifically methane that contributes to Global Warming. It also has a huge effect on animals and marine life through the destruction of their habitat.
Garbage disposal still remains to be unresolved problem in our municipality. We have to act together to finally get rid of these. AGLINIS TAYO APO!
